Let Them Build

Pizzaria Gusto has become one of my favorite places to eat in the city and adding a patio would only make it more accessible to folks during the busy summer period AND heighten the Winnipeg dining experience for visitors.

Don't let the NIMBYs get you down!

I'm at a loss to understand why these people see the Corydon model as something to be feared and stifled rather than emulated. Corydon and Osborne Village are the only two functioning neighbourhoods in the entire damn city.

Once again, the lovely Winnipeg NIMBY attitude that commercial and residential space must be rigidly separated. Preferably by acres of parking and lots of turning lanes.

Since the process allows people to speak to a development, why should we act like "we' can tell them what to do.

If enough of them don't want it and the process places some value on that "voice ', so be it.

More power to them for standing up for what they believe is right for their neighborhood.

Because too often in this city, supporters don't speak up and the handful of negative folk dictate terms. (It's why the patio wasn't open last year, for example.)

They are wrong on this issue Nobody. For someone who says, "If you are wrong, I'll beat you down till you admit it." about himself, I wouldn't expect you to be such a supporter of the NIMBY status quo attitude that stifles good development in the city.

This the same place that is five feet away from the curb? Where are they planning to locate a patio while still allowing a sidewalk?

I don't side with anyone except the process. the process will determine who is on the wrong side.

Personally, I couldn't care less about a pizza patio on an average street. This is as boring an issue as ikea.I'm all in favor of people expressing themselves and defending their turf. If they are wrong, then they shouldn't be part of the process. Seeing that they are part of the process, perhaps, they have a point.

Hack, follow the IF....should the process side on your enemy's behalf, then you'll know where to direct your frustration.
