I don't know when I became the official defender of the Green Party, but...
Who is Jack Layton's choice for Prime Minister? He's obviously smart enough to know he's not going to win. Who is Duceppe's choice? Who was Manning's choice back in '93?
Frankly, I don't think it's fair to criticize her for being the only one who's up front enough to acknowledge it's a two-horse race.
"I don't know when I became the official defender of the Green Party..."
I don't either. May in the debate would add nothing but novelty and novelty just isn't a high enough entry fee in my mind.
If we're suddenly acknowledging that it is only a two-horse race, shouldn't we have at least one debate amongst the two horses?
I liked the Calgary Grit's suggestion of a single debate between the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition to go along with a couple of debates for all. Those are official positions and would hit the front runners more often than naught.
That would be more useful than adding May to the current debates.
