Five Things I Learned This Weekend

1. Some women really do carry pit stick to the bar in order to freshen up whilest dancing.  (And in general, that the Silver Spike in Transcona is a fun bar.)

2. The Kokanee Ranger's fate was decided.

3. "Hard Sun" is not an Eddie Vedder original, but an Eddie Vedder cover.

4. My first fantasy football league is likely switching to auction format and I cannot be more thrilled.

5. While I am still betting on a fall election soonish, that there is a better than even chance that all the speculation is for naught and there will be governing as per usual.

6. Donne Flanagan is dead.

Re: the Kokanee Ranger:

Its about time I cast a vote for the winning side!

Shame about Flanagan. I never met the guy - or if I did, only in passing as it never registered - but people I like liked him. 44 is way too young, no matter how you cut it.

Now if only Doer would die , maybe us conservatives have a shot next election .

Not nice.

Also not true.

Doer makes an excellent argument for taxidermy and I think the party would probably spend the money to do it.

Even gluing him on to a wagon and driving him around should be enough to do it considering the sorry mess of the Tories.

If you glued him on a wagon Manitobans would be stupid enough to fall for it. The only people left in Manitoba are socialists.

I think you would have liked Donne, Hack. He had friends from a variety of political camps.

Donne had a quick wit and a wry grin that was infectious.

Like Mike Bessy, he was taken long before his time.

He will be missed by many.
