Don't you think Harper is being a bit of a wimp here ? No one sued the conservatives when adscam was going on. What's next ? Are they going to be suing each other over things said in QP ??

They can't sue about things said in the house, its protected speech. You can defame until your hearts content there.

The difference with Adscam was that the RCMP were not only investigating they were pressing charges and people have been convicted.

Jonathan Kay summed it up the best in the Saturday post (as have many others) with the summary of "Tom Flanagan is far too smart to be that stupid."

Would've rather seen Flanagan and FInley threaten to sue. Plays better than a sitting PM.

why wouldn't he go ahead with the lawsuit? Unless the Liberals print a full retraction and apologize, I think he's prepared to go ahead with it.

Because they just want it to go away. Harper is just trying to bully the liberals into shutting up. The way these parties are acting, Jack Layton might have a shot at Leader of the Opposition next time. I said, MIGHT.
