A Question That Vexes Me This Morning
Suppose that the worse occurred and that the Prime Minister was killed will visiting Afghanistan. How many Canadians would be up in arms over an attack on their leader and how many would simply assume Prime Minister Harper - and by extension, Canada - should not have been there in the first place?
Chalk me up in the second column.
However, he won't be targeted by the Taliban anyway, so not to worry - his politics and religious world-view are pretty similar to theirs, all things considered, and his government's short-sighted foreign policy only lends credibility to the Taliban's recruiting efforts.

Ralph Goodale commented last Friday on one of the political shows that he wouldn't be at all surprised to see the PM in Afghanistan for Victoria Day. According to CTV, journalists were advised Friday afternoon to pack for a warm climate, and to keep it confidential. Was this yet another leak, or just another huge coincidence for Ralph ???
